As the name suggests, this is about exploring issues concerning the separation for your child or children.
It is important during separation to consider the experiences and the needs of the children. This brief report provides information about the children’s experiences and can help parents to better understand how the separation and changes are affecting the children. This will hopefully allow the parents to consider the future arrangements from their children’s perspective and make decisions that best meet their children’s needs.
The child impact report can also help judicial officers to get an understanding of what is happening for your children and assist them in making decisions as to the best way to manage your case.
Things that will be considered for the report include:
- your children’s development,
- your children’s relationships
- and the presence of risk factors (such as family violence)
